Welcome to #CILR2023!
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Stockholm for the European Meeting on Laparoscopic and Robotic Urologic Surgery. It is most gratifying that “Challenges in Laparoscopy and Robotics” has now reached its 19th consecutive annual edition! The original concept that initiated this adventure remains even more valid and alive, and showing great potential for the future of Urology. The comprehensive scientific program will include live robotic and laparoscopic surgeries performed by the world’s most prominent urologic surgeons.
In the past meetings, we have witnessed many challenging procedures. It is now time to expand our indications and to look forward to new challenges like Robotic kidney transplantation and auto-transplantation, Complex endophytic Partial Nephrectomy, Level 3 Caval Thrombectomy in RCC, Inferior vena-cavectomy and prosthetic grafting of IVC, Left radical nephrectomy with concomitant distal pancreatectomy w/wo splenectomy, Buccal mucosal repair for ureteral strictures, Post-chemo retroperitoneal LND, Radical prostatectomy for oligo-metastatic cancer, Salvage radical prostatectomy, Robotic urethral pull-through or V-Y plasty for difficult bladder neck strictures, Robotic gender re-assignment surgery, Single-port robotics, Fllexible robotics, etc.
We are enthusiastically anticipating an extremely stimulating meeting. Live surgery, discussions and thought-provoking debates will take place with the participation of the best urologists in the international arena. There will be two monitors transmitting live different surgeries at the same time. As an innovation also this year we have introduced one screen dedicated to a series of 25 uncommon, complex and difficult surgeries presented by the actual surgeons. The series is entitled “One hour with . .”.
Each delegate will be provided with headphones with the possibility to select their preferred session and moderation. All questions will be transmitted to the moderators via Twitter or directly via moderators.
We are very proud to host this 19th International Meeting in Stockholm, the Queen of the North. All the surgeries will be transmitted live from the Karolinska University, one of Europe’s leading centers in Urology.
We are confident that the challenging procedures that you will see will allow you to strongly advance your own robotic and laparoscopic vision and skill-sets, and also lead the way towards defining the future of Urologic Surgery.
